Thank you
And believe me I did cry. So sad to see a grown man in the couch crying over coral lol

Didn't lose my system due to flatworms... but to feel your pain. I did the exact same thing because i was at my parents house in Texas and when i got the call there was literally nothing that could be done or changed.

entire 180g reef, Lost at christmas, fish and coral and all.... close to 5k worth of livestock. My power went out at the house and my return battery backup only can last for 2 hours. when power kicks back on you have to reclick the button to restart it so it won't surge the outlets... my friend came over the day of, and didn't come back for 3 days. he came over to a tank cloudier than if 50g was straight milk poured in. My power heads are on a separate outlet that restarts... so the system ran approx 3 days at 51 degrees with no lights, heaters or return pump from the sump. I am truly sorry for your loss man, was an immaculate tank!

Sorry I missed you at the swap but my wife told me you stopped by to say hi!!

I wanted to give a great big public thank you to Big E

We have done some trading and selling between us over the last 2 years after meeting at one of the ohio swaps. The past weekend when we met at the Lear swap. He had a bag full of high end acros waiting for me to help me get restocked. His generosity is appreciated much more than he knows. And it is friends like him who are keeping me in the hobby!!

Thanks again Ed!!!

A little update
The tank is recovering nicely

I upgraded lights from 90. 3w bridgelux LEDs and a few t-5s

To a full spectrum 240 3 and 5watt Cree led setup. It's just a little brighter. Lol
Royal blue
Warm white
Uv
Red
Green
Ocean coral white

I have added tons of sps frags and colonies. And my bank account is now drained lol. So time for them to get growing

Bob, so awesome dude.
Remember.................If you think you go slow...... go even slower!
I know you want to bounce back strong but take your time.

I know about going slow. But the one thing I can control to get things growing faster is the light

My old diy fixture maxed it's par out right around 350 about 4" down. Definitely not enough. I will put the new par numbers up sometime this week when my buddy drops off his new par meter
My new fixture doesn't have optics with the amount of LEDs on it. And hopefully par numbers are high enough that I don't need them

Thank you

I didn't cry. When my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer last year and had a stroke after brain surgery I did cry (lots). This tank was to be my mechanism to cope with all of that. 8 months later and she's doing better. Fortunately, most of my corals pulled through, perhaps because I did massive daily water changes and ran a bunch of carbon. Now everything's over into the new 200 gallon and seems to be regaining some of its lost vigor and color. LMK if you do reach Habib and/or point out to him that you're not alone in having this problem.

Flatworm exit

This is dendroman I to have run into the same problem with FWE I have lost numerous frags and colony's I did not keep the batch number but now wish i would have

Glad to see its on the way back, looks much better already. Are you still moving forward with the retail store? I hope so, please keep me posted. Also I did not see your big RBTA? You relocate him? He would look good in a display tank in your store, hope he is doing ok.

Thanks bud. After talking with many many people and store owners
we decided against opening a store. Only like 1 in 10 actually make it and I'm not willing to take a risk.

My wife owns her own business and too much time is taken up with her work so I'm sticking with it in the copier field

The rbta didn't take the crash well and I thought it was a goner. I moved it upstairs to the biocube and it is recovering. Not sure if it's going back in the big tank I'm actually trying to catch the clown as well because I'm tired of getting bit lol

Here is the rbta. Little smaller than the 12" he was but still alive

No problem Bob, it was my pleasure..............good luck with the new lighting, and see ya in May.

I have been following this thread. I can't imagine the feeling of watching hour tank die right in front of you. I which there was something I could do for you. I am however praying for you. Good luck.

It was a terrible watching everything die and know I couldn't do anything about it (that helped)

But looking forward to the future and am on the way back!!
