Ok, aside from the demand, what's it cost for a 40 gallon tank, that will house mixed corals, including more demanding sps.

I saw the guide, now I can't find it.. It basically laid out all of the products you will need. So if going from the guide, buying the largest available to cut costs, what would that cost? (I saw someone else get some similar things, but it was 170$? for his lps-softies purchase?)

Maybe I should refine the above thought more...

Like one thing that jumps out at me is Pro Bio S. I see on amazon it's 25$ for 50ml? (nopox is 1000ml for about the same)

I'm curious because I've been hearing a lot of good things.

The point is its a programme which helps to run a ULNS and boost coral growth and colouration. Now the product line contains several things. You use specific mix of different bacterial strains and their food source or culture media (Pro Bio S and NP Pro). This will cost you total $50 (50ml each). But you use 2 drops of each for 50Gal everyday. So, it will possibly last for 3-4months or even more. Now you can use their other products to run a balance reef easily and you can do that in two ways. First you use 1+2+3 5 litres to replenish all mineral demand of your reef and its readymade but it will cost you more. On the other hand you can prepare the same kind of solution using individual components and it will run much longer than the readymade. So in long run it will be cheaper.

Look at the NP Pro in the 2000 ml, the is a similar product to NoPox.

I am on the AF system for the last 4 to 5 months. The items I use is below.

Started with the probiotic salt. (g/f bought me a bucket of reef salt, by accident, so using that for now)
NP Pro
Pro Bio F (every other day ie: tues, thurs, sat)
Pro Bio S (every other day ie: m, w, f, sun)
Amino Mix
Power food
energy
Build
Vitality
Fish V

AF carbon
Zeomix
Phosphate minus
Component 1+ 2+ 3+ (Manually add 35 ml daily, until dosing system is up and running)

I bought all of that on the first day from Salty Supply, it was give or take $200 (rounding up) 5 months ago. The only thing I have had to buy since then is the salt. When is the probiotic salt $85 lasts about 2 1/2 months. I do a 12-16g weekly water change in my 100g+/- total water Volume. My tank is 10 months old and mostly a SPS dominated tank, with some LPS and a Rainbow bubble tip anemone that has split (LPS and anemone for my g/f and her kids). So with the cost of salt and the initial cost so far, I have spent ($200 initial cost + $170 in 2 buckets of salt) $370 divided by 5 months = $74 a month. Rough estimations but you get the idea. But this is only for my tank, others are less or more. Below are 2 pictures of my tank. First one with just cell phone, second one through the polarized sunglass lenses with cell phone. Hope this helps some.

Any comments from people on the np pro? Someone said it doesn't have a smell, so I'm curious as to what it is. Someone else said after dosing vinegar then switching, they had nitrates rise a little, so that makes me wonder if it's a completely new carbon source coming to the game... The term 'liquid polymer' makes me think of the instant ocean stuff with the balls in it..

Just curious, as we advance, I'm sure eventually new methods will blow older ones out of the water.. :D (no pun intended lol)

Perhaps they took the solid form of biopellets made up from poly-3-hydro butyrate (P3HB) and 3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate (P3HBV) and liquidised them or just kept them in a liquid form, if that's even possible, I don't know, I'm not a polymer chemist :)

My order just arrived so im excited to get started on the program. I think this fist mix i will just start with two cups and measure the SG as i go until i hit 1.025 - 1.026. I have seen three answers form 2 to 3.3 cups!!

I've got a big batch of additives coming in tomorrow .... That I've used before..... I can't wait! [emoji23][emoji24][emoji23]

My tank is almost 8 month old with lots of zoa and LPS. Im just starting to get into SPS due to the wicked sales they have hear for Aqua SD.. :).
The tank is doing well now but im looking forward to the outcome of this product and to watch many of the young new corals grow as well as the added health to my fish. Im going to do a photo log for the next four months to see what comes from this change.

Purple:D

Did a 10gal water change tonight with my new AF Reef salt. It only took 2 cups per 5gal to get to 1.026..
Super happy with that considering i used 2 1/2 cups of IO reef crystal so i don't use as much salt.

You will be surprised with the result of this salt and products, we need a two week and 4 week check in please:)

Totally agree ! 2 weeks and you'll start to smile, at 4 weeks you'll be [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

A completely unrelated but sort of related comment... It would be nice if AF would color code their e,a,b and v bottles to coordinate with dosing....a and v one color / e and b another.... I have my bottles labeled but it would help to avoid confusion on those late night dosings when I'm half asleep.

braille, who needs color
