I've been sick with pneumonia and then with Thanksgiving I didn't have the time. I was also hoping to use ICH management. When I thought it might be more the ICH, I started contemplating my options, including selling everything off.

Thanks much.Great post man!
If this was velvet, most likely they would be dead, looks like you had ich, maybe even ich and velvet before you put them through qt. 8 weeks fishless is enough to eradicate velvet, but not ich, and that's why you have ich in DT IMO. I believe 76 days needed fishless to eradicate ich. Sorry, feel your pain, but try to hang on, most of us know how you feel.
You should be good at this point. Its been over well over the needed 76 days.Question? I lost all my fish in a reef to ich.(source unknown---no fish added since may---live rock that sat in air for a week added in june) Last fish died 9/4/16 . Added a clam 10/10. Been fish-less since 9/4. When can I add fish again???

If you added a clam you may well have started the 76 days all over again (starting 10/10). I would be very very cautious with your bad experience thus far. Ich and velvet can and do easily come on most wet things from other water systems containing sick fish. I wouldn't gamble personally.Question? So few do this but unfortunately it's the only way to be sure - set up a Rubbermaid tub with rock a heater and a power head and "quarantine" it for 76 days to be sure. It's a pain but you do get used to it.Is there a way to make wet rock safe? The LFS that I have been acquiring rock from may not be trusted , as I am assuming it was the source. It went in in june and disease showed up in august. thoughts?
Correct. You make wet rock safe by 76 day fallow yes?
You are right few would do this. not me. I was expecting you might say soak rock in bleach for 24hrs. I have been lucky for at least 16 years in this tank, as I never quarantine. I hate to say it, but I don't have the patience to qt rock. kinda bummed. I'll look for a lfs that sells dry rock in my area. Thanks for advice though. So few do this but unfortunately it's the only way to be sure - set up a Rubbermaid tub with rock a heater and a power head and "quarantine" it for 76 days to be sure. Good catch, I missed this!If you added a clam you may well have started the 76 days all over again (starting 10/10). I would be very very cautious with your bad experience thus far. I didn't qt for ten years almost. 3 years later you know where I amI've only been in this hobby for 4 years. Started with a 29 gallon bio cube that soon turned into two other tanks, then a 90 now a 250. I've never had this happen before. I never QTd in those tanks eithet which is why I'm so dang frustrated.
Over the summer, I had what Im pretty sure was velvet. I set up two QT tanks, got the fish out for 8 weeks and left it fishless. All fish in QT were treated with coppersafe at 2PPM for 4 weeks or so. I checked every other day, sometimes every day. All the fish went back in at the middle of October, from around mid august. Over the past few weeks, some of the fish developed what I think/thought was ICH. No, I m not sure. What I do know is, they have symptoms off an on for around three weeks. I know if it was velvet again, they would all be dead Im guessing. I really don't know anymore. I might try the bleach treatment tomorrow. I don't know what else to do.
Just FYI, it really impacted me too. Made me completely rethink my approach. Unfortunately, I didn't go to 100% QT, and put a fish in from a well-known store that QT's their incoming fish (at least they say they do and have proof in the back), BUT didn't QT that fish and got velvet. Now, re-reading your article, I'm 100% QT, of all creatures, corals, etc. Not worth it to see fish die... Thanks Mr. Ford!I'm glad it had an impact. I cannot undo what I did but if I can save people from doing as I did and I help save other fish I can at least try.
Thank you for telling me that, it means more than you know.
