Trav's 70g CadLights Artisan II

Didn't like the T5 lighting? Those lights look nice. You will miss the growth you get from the T5s.
Honestly, fast growth isn't a primary goal with this tank. I'm not running a frag house :)

Aesthetically speaking, this blows the fixture I had out of the water ;Hilarious

Looks like some nice shimmer. I miss the MH shimmer.

It's very close to metal halide shimmer. You're welcome to come by and see for yourself. The colors do not separate like what I have seen the ecotech lights do.

Everyone likes growth in their tank. i had the aquatic life fixture running an AP700 and 4 T5s and grow was great after I added the T5s. Now I'm running metal halides and T5s because I am into SPS and acros now and metal halides give the best coloration in my opinion. I loved the AP700 for the pop it gives but a 20k halide can do magic to to a reef tank.

Cool, I like the softies :)

I like them too. They do great under the halides as well. But, I've got bitten by the acro bug. My tank is still evenly mixed though.
You've done a good job with your tank. I remember when you first started your build. Keep up the good work. Hopefully you won't be dreaming of a bigger tank like I have. Lol.

Little lighting upgrade ;) Kessil A360X's

Sweet! Your tank is looking super fine!

Thanks!

I've decided to give the Tropic Marin products a try.

The first product is an all in one dosing solution. Ca/Alk/Mag/Trace. All in one dose.

The second product is what they call "optional". It's basically more trace that they say enhances coral color. Two pumps a day (for my water volume). Seems easy enough.

I had been using Seachem Fusion 1 and 2 to keep up with ca/alk/mag.

Will be interested to see how those products work. I use their bio actif salt for my tank. It's expensive but it provides a lot of the minerals and trace elements. Plus the Alk and calc is very close to where I keep my parameters. Keep us posted.

Will do.

Before dosing, tested Alk at 9.2 dKh. After 24 hours of dosing, Alk was still at 9.2 dKh. I only dosed 10mL during that 24 hour period. So the 1000mL bottle will last 100 days if that dosage rate continues to be enough. The math works out to $0.33 per day in cost.

Carbocalcium is a powder that is dosed manually directly to the tank without premixing in water. It dissolves in the tank. They do basically the same thing, but All For Reef is liquid that is premixed and ready to be used with a dosing pump.

Edit, wrong, sorry, wrong product.

Carbocalcium is Calcium and Alk ONLY. All For Reef adds Mag and Trace.

Todays Alk test, 9.5 dKh. I cut the dose in half to 5 ml per day. we'll see what tomorrow looks like. :)

Thanks!

I was eying those products daily at my lfs.. would be interesting to see how it turns out for you..

Following along, I’m looking at the new kessil’s for my 25g nuvo lagoon build. I really love the shimmer (I have a tuna sun over my planted tank and it’s great)

I’d be interested in seeing how your cal level stays with the all in one. If it is truly balanced then it will be a great product

Yeh I want to check Alk daily and Ca weekly. I’ll post the results when I test.

You won’t regret the A360X’s. I decided to not wait for the wifi dongle and to go ahead and get the new controller because I will also be using it to control the H160 I want to get for my fuge.

Does the new x controller work with the H series? I know the old A series controller didn’t
