Vitamin C dosing for zoanthids (I am clueless)

I ended up finding the sodium ascorbate (vc crystals) here in town at a local health food store. Same brand and everything. I live in a town of like 50k people so you guys from bigger places should have no problem finding it locally if you look around

I have a 215 gal . I started today with a half a teaspoon. I have a bunch of different zoos in the tank and some lps. There always seems to be at least 1 or two fussing or just melt on me here and there. I have used hydrogen peroxide dips (hit or miss) in the past with some sucess. All my perameters seem to be ok except my nitrates which have crept up to 20 maybe higher(api test).I use filter socks a skimmer , gfo , rox.08, and small 5-10 gallon water changes once a week or so.I am hoping(not holding my breath) the zoos I have right now that are fussing get better and or my nitrates go down. Either would be pretty nice.I started with a half a teaspoon of the iherb stuff(thanks for the link and coupon)not sure if its enough or too much but I will keep you all posted

Naw dude that's straight up ascorbic acid. It'll drop your ph if you put it in your tank. Swing down to Idaho Falls and stop in at Wealth of Health. They have the 8 oz bottles of sodium ascorbate(the buffered version). It's more expensive than iherb.com but it's the same brand and you can have it now

Ascorbic acid has a pH of 4. Sodium ascorbate has a pH of 7.1.

It's hard to say. I think it has increased my skimmate production, and maybe had some little effect on corals but nothing miraculous and no big changes that I can say for a fact was the vitamin c. My closed zoa colonies haven't recovered yet but they haven't kicked the bucket either, and I haven't had any more close up on me since I started the vitamin c so that's something I guess. I'll have to look back in the thread, but I think it's been like 3 weeks now?

Yes should work great man! not the same stuff that I bought, but it'll work. Where did you end up getting it? I have the sodium ascorbate - adding calcium to the tank with the vit c though is an idea that doesn't bother me lol.

The amount of Ca in there is minimal.

Should I be using ascorbic acid since my pH is usually on the higher end?
I recently bought healthforce truly natural vitamin c, suppose to be natural/organic. Have anyone use this brand? Way more expensive....I normally use sodium ascorbate but didn't want to drive farther to get it.
