We need another laughing emoji. There are posts that are legit funny and then the posts I want to laugh at because they are so stupid. I need the author to know the meaning of my laughter, there is no room for a grey area. I get no satisfaction if their post is stupid but they think my laughter is approval. I need an emoji that says “this is stupid, please stop talking.”

Nobody is claiming that it doesn't work. People are complaining because they thought they were buying a safer product. I'm starting to wonder how many of the apologists are in their pocket. Surely all y'all aren't failing at reading comprehension right?

I made a post in this thread or the other one that I’m worried about people’s reading comprehension skills. I think part of the problem is that people don’t read an entire thread and they pick and choose so they are unable to pick up on the main idea

Anyone I disagree with that I think is not picking up the main idea. These Vibrant threads are not about whether the product works but that the company knowingly or unknowingly mislead the community about the product’s contents and that in many cases the product has had a disastrous effect people’s tanks. For many people to come in here and be okay with it because “it works” is mind blowing. My opinion of that stance is that it’s stupid and dangerous to think that and I don’t believe they have read all the posts on both threads. I would like to express that without having to respond to every comment I see. Hence my wish for an emoji.

Hi there, just joined R2R and wanted to share my experience with vibrant. A few months back I had a case of bubble algae in my tank, obviously vibrant is known to clear up bubble algae so I thought I would give it a go. I only dosed the recommended amount which what I thought was a dirty tank 1ml, per 10 gallons once a week, after the first week I had Dino and cyano and stopped using it. Now I'm worried that vibrant is still in my system.

In the case of vibrant, come to think of it, its a very unsophisticated approach by this company. Look at high-end reef products manufacturers such as KZ and in some cases TM as well, they simply do not disclose what is in their entire repertoire of additives. And still, they have many happy customers.
I just got Sponge Power (probably some form of silicon in an acetic acid solution...RTV108 anybody?), together with the TM NP Bactobalance (I guess its a sugar of some type based on viscosity/stickiness) these are the only additives that I do not know what they are made of and yet still use.
By using too many of those unknown compounds, we negatively effect our reefing learning curve.

The thing is that Vibrant was so popular exactly because people thought it was a bacterial additive.
If it had been clear from the start that vibrant was likely an algaecide, I doubt it'd have become so popular.

Well brs refunded me for my bottle of vibrant. I can't really be mad at them, I feel like they got duped just like us. I'm curious to see what happens to all the videos they have up pushing vibrant...

Now here's the awkward question... lol. What bacteria DO I buy? Like, I'm planning to start a couple new tanks and was planning to use Dr. Tim's stuff.... should I just assume all bottled bacteria without a list of ingredients are suspicious now?

While I understand the concern, all reef products require a degree of trust in the company supplying it to be what it claims. There are a number of reef suppliers that I do not trust, and some that clearly do not understand their own products.

In terms of bacteria, I think if you want to look for a likely person/company to trust, Tim Hovanec meets the criteria for likely being a trustworthy expert in the area. Doesn't mean every product of his is optimal, or that others are not.

Not trying to "beat a dead horse here", but I have a question. I added a rock flower anemone to my tank on Sunday. I'm sad to report that my new pet did not make it. He succumbed so quickly. I'm wondering if there is a possibility of Vibrant still in my system? If so, could this have caused his quick death? I had stopped Vibrant a few weeks ago, and had done a 50% water change prior to getting this anemone. All my parameters are in the "ok" range, and it's a 10 year old tank. I cannot think of anything else that could possible have caused his death! Any thoughts?

Crazy man, i grabbed this stuff to fight some bubble algae, dosed it three times and just thought things looked weird. Glad i went with my gut this stuffs in the trash! Yeah, I lost all of my snails within a week of each other. I wondered about that too. So, how do I get it out of my tank?! I already did the water changes. Doesn't look like it's helping.

At this time, we have samples of Vibrant out to Labs for independent certified testing dating back to batches from 2016 to current to compare them to see if there have been any changes in the production of Vibrant.

We are hoping to have these results back by the end of this week and we will post everything that we have.

I know this post will not please everyone, but we want to have as much information as possible for the community before we make any official statements.
