I clicked on this thread for the first time today. I only read the last 5 pages or so. This guy's been jerking you around for quite a while. Sometimes almost taunting people in the other (fluconazole) thread.

Here's the funny thing. I have some bubble algae and picked up a bottle of virbant a month or two ago. After I spent $25 on it, looked it up online and decided against adding it. It's still sitting in a cabinet, unopened. I don't have a dog in this fight, but after the way he's been acting here. I can honestly say I won't use it.

As other people have said, no one cares if it has algaecide in it, as long as it says it has algaecide in it. I'd even be fine with it containing a 'proprietary algaecide' so they don't have to tell us exactly what it is. But I'd still like a general idea as to what I'm putting in my tank.

IOW, the way UWC has been acting has turned me, and probably others like me, from a potential customer because I didn't have a strong opinion one way or the other, to actively pushing away another, albeit small, source of income.

Now, if anyone has a good way to get rid of some bubble algae, I'm all ears. Tank is too small for tangs (40g) and I get worried about emerald crabs attacking corals or other inverts.

Just manually remove it. Pop it and pull.

And if anyone here gasps at this just ask them to prove it releases spores. Because they can't. You will wait just as long as everyone here is waiting for the internal test results. Put on some Bob Marley or some Hendrix, reach in, and start clearing your bubble algae.

Just FWIW, this whole thing is a shining example of what not to do in crisis comms. Mistakes: Not crisis-ready, no crisis plan, taking too long to respond... I have also never heard of an approach to crisis comms where the response is to say you'll respond when your lawyers will let you.

So if it comes out that this is an algaecide then I believe that means in Canada at least, it wont be available for fish stores to sell it, which would be a huge market loss.

oh it’s already come out, it’s is a algaecide,,,we are just waiting for you know who … my BS sniffer phone app has those odds at 500:1 against them showing … 1:50 blame gets transferred 1:1000 some legal noise gets posted

as consumers there is a simple fix for all this…
collectivley stop buying additives without some type of warning & content label. (yes, mislead, yes)
