I'm going to chime in also with the Fijicube suggestion. They aren't all that well know, since they sell direct rather than through the big retailers.
Even if the bulkheads are for 1.25" you can get slip adapters from 1.25" to 1" at almost any hardware store.

My hesitation with that one is the 2 imputs, and the reservoir. I usually use external reservoirs, and will be using a single reservoir for both systems.

The reservoir is very large which is handy. I use the two inputs and then the third input is just my emergency drain and so I dump that right into the skimmer chamber. Nothing comes out of that unless I have a clogged pipe on the other two.

It’s handy that it is large, but I already own (and need) a single larger ATO reservoir that I use on multiple tanks. So it would be more of a headache to put a reservoir in the sump- an additional thing to check and fill.

Would love a dreambox!

But have an old 75 gallon tank I out baffles in to use as a sump and I have a stock tank that I will use eventually. I don’t have the space for it right now.

I just finished watching "Meleve's Reef today...I am considering making my sump...but he had some very reasonable ranges of sumps. Watch his vlog and check.out his site. I don't get any perks for saying this.

I've been working on a new sump for my own reef this week, and it is nearly done. I'll be showcasing it during my livestream today at 2 p.m. CST on youtube.

Marc is way cool..I joined his FB group & ave talked via site w/him about getting a sump from him for my 92 corner bow front.
(One of the very few thing s that make FB tolerable.) I am budgeting for it. His workmanship is well worth the cost I think) & he isn't paying me to say that either

I like to build my own. I don't think the new style sumps do enough to oxygenate the aquarium. The one pictured was for my 300 and it had a large area for a fuge along with a tower for a drip tray to add extra oxygen and was 60" x 24" for about $200 in material. Most Acrylic places will cut all the pieces and you just have to assemble it with Weldon cement.

Oh by the way, an update on what I chose:

I ended up with a Crystal Aquatics sump, and was pretty disappointed with the quality. The features are pretty nice, just craftsmanship was poor. After sending them photos they said that the one I received was not their usual quality, and provided a 20% refund.

I had to add additional solvent on several areas to reinforce joints that had large bubbles or gaps. Already the probe holder fell off when trying to put in a probe, due to being barely attached at all. Water gets by the filter tray because it is not fully welded to the sides of the sump. I would not order another.
