What is your favorite sump brand?

Sorry to hear that. I would have sent it back.
I am a minimalist. $50 40 breeder sump with no baffels on my 120 with 1 7" filter sock. I like simple and could not see paying almost as much for a sump as my tank.
Go figure! I did spend 3 times my sump $'s on a bashsea 10 gallin ato tank because it fit perfectly.

I have the trigger emerald 34 and really like it. It only has 2 inlet pipes but the third emergency drain can be anywhere in the sump. Comes with the built in probe holder and drilled for your dosing lines. I have a dedicated filter sock area, zeovit reactor area, skimmer area, and a return pump area. Could you have the same for cheaper?...Yes Anything I would change?...probably not. I don't want a lid to cover the sump area other than the filter sock area because skimmer and reactor are too big and less gas exchange.

I got both my trigger emerald sumps for under $150, +$2 bottle of vinegar, they were essentially brand new after I cleaned them. Great sumps. Love em’. My next build I will most likely go MRC sump.

Router tear-out all over, chipped corners, glue dripping down pretty much all panels, enough bubbles in seams that chambers leak into the other, etc.

I hesitated to even accept the 20%. But to send it back and ship another would be too expensive.

Nope. Just emailed me that they will send a 20% refund. I wasn’t happy either, but that’s life.... I considered making a thread in their forum but decided to move on.

Did they want you to cover any of those expenses? If it's too expensive for them to cover return shipping, then ship to you again, maybe they're better off to send you a new one and tell you do whatever with the old one.

Seems like a happy customer and avoiding a bad review would be worth more than $120 but I guess they did their own cost/benefit analysis.

That was not one of the options I had. They didn’t even ask if I thought 20% was reasonable.

Personally, when I conduct business, if the product is defective it will be replaced at my cost. But then again, I don’t have such high value items. The transaction left a bad taste in my mouth, but I didn’t want to cause drama by going (directly) public with it.

I see that a lot with companies in this industry, zero business sense.

My bashsea smart series sump was 10/10 quality. I’m not overly critical person.... it’s just the SRS could have been assembled by a child.

Bashsea also was great in letting me buy an extra baffle to install myself, when I wanted to add another chamber.

It’s a special system with a concept that I have a provisional patent on... I might market it in the future. So didn’t want to be tooooo public with it, to avoid copycats.

Drama llama. They said this quality is not typical BTW- that this sump shouldn’t have been shipped. So maybe someone else can post more detailed photos of theirs, for confirm that.
