What tang is this? Difficulty?

It ate all the pods except for these tiny slug type pods.

The pic is a little fuzzy, but I could swear these are flat worms and not pods.

Sorry, just finished reading the thread and realized I'm a little late on this. You definitely want to get rid of the flat worms.

I would try some type of small wrasse to eat the flat worms. That would be safer for you than flatworm exit.
Your first pic looks like a mimic tang but the second looks like an orange shoulder. Either way, it's not going to do good in a 2' tank. Even for 6 months. There's a reason you see it eating everything in your tank that it shouldn't be. It's starving! They have a voracious appetite and need to eat constantly. It is very hard to support them in such a small environment.

Try siphoning out as many of the flatworms as possible during each water change. That will help reduce the numbers considerably.

I dont know what to do now.. lfs here are pathetic. Well i feed it frozen mysis, rotifers, cyclops and lobster eggs. also i feed hikari marine s, nls algaemax and nls thera a. I feed it nori also, but it doesnt eat. its tummy is always very full. Ill try to get the new tank asap.

But are they pest or jus ugly looking
They are pests I n the way that they will over populate eventually and can smother out corals and they do release a small amount of toxins when they die. A few here and there is not a big deal but when there's hundreds or thousands, they will wipe out your tank.
Keep trying the nori. He will eventually start picking at it. If you have a fuge, live algae would be great too. Caulerpas, sea lettuce, or gracilaria. Meaty foods are ok but try to get as many green foods in there too. The pellets are good they'll cover all your bases.

Yup, iv bought sera nori gourmet... will try feeding every alternate days

Well its a 24" cube. Iv seen many keeping larger full grown ones in this back sump bio cubes. Thts far smaller i guess. Well anyways im planning on a 150g in 3mnths, will shift it there.
Interesting trend in that almost everyone Ive seen keeping tangs in small nanos like yours "plans" on something over a hundred gallons in the near future.
In the meantime.. Poor Fish.:(

True, im too feeling bad for it, its my carelessness that i jus trusted lfs n bought it.. im trying asap.

red planaria. i'd do some google-fu if I were you.

I don't think so. Planaria have a tail with three prongs. The flatworms pictures have a formed tail with two prongs. I believe they are acole flatworms. I see some in my sump from time to time. The population never gets out of control and they don't harm anything.

I have a powder brown tang in a 10 gallon for Quarantine

I think for a tang, at least a 20g qt i a must.
A lot of pet stores keep small tangs in those little 3-5 gallon cubes. My pbt is fine he's eating good and isn't scared of me and since most of my fish are over 10 years old and I've never had any diseases in the 20 years I've had a tank. I wish my qt tank was bigger but I needed it to fit under my big tank. It's only got a few weeks left then a day in the acclimation box. My way works for me

A QT by definition is temporary. If it is cruel or not, I do not know. Yes many people cram tangs into a small tank with the intention of upgrading in the future. Usually life gets in the way and the upgrade never happens. This may or may not be the case with the op. But just about everybody here has done it. The right thing to do is rehome the fish in a few months if you don't see the upgrade happening. Personally I feel bad keeping some of the fish that I do in my 1500. But I justify it by telling myself that there is far fewer predators in my tank than the ocean.

Yes, i was planning something like that, but majority of the experienced hobbyist suggests that qt should be atleast 10ft away from dt. I dont know the reason in detail though. i have space issue as i live in an apartment with family. Parents keep scolding all the time for new tanks.. lol.. they feel qt is jus an excuse.. lol

Finally tang started eating nori.. my ywg too eats it.. lol
