What will you NEVER add to your tank again?

Three stripe damels and Caulerpa brachypus. I was able to get the damels out with a fish trap but the Caulerpa I've only had luck draining the tank and dripping peroxide on it and letting it sit 10 minutes before filling the tank back up. Amazingly effective, but I got some on a neon candycane and almost completely bleached it.

Targetfish.... He's actually brackish, but I managed to aquire a larger specimen along with three larger monos, all of which were fully acclimated to salt water by that point. All was great, until the Targetfish randomly flipped and killed all of the monos.....

I will never add a coral that has not been dipped. had the joy of dealing with orange flatworms for 6 months used a whole bottle of flatworm exit on a biocube 29.

Aptasia hopefully Jk lol. Probably tangs they hate me for some reason! Surprised no ones said Xenia or mushrooms yet?!! :)

Bubble tip anemone and angel fish, or for that matter any spur of the moment purchase at the lfs before researching the purchase. The bta only because it keeps growing and splitting and stinging my corals when it decides to go a wandering.

Any Crab.

Anthelia
Xenia
GSP
Kenya Tree
most pseudochromis
Copperband Butterfly

ANY coral from a swap that I don't know the vendor seller.

Tapwater, or worse yet Well Water.

How about 6.5K Halides? (Oh... showing my age.)

The TDS of my well water was 600+, I added about 5 gallons once to a 150ish water volume tank. The next day I had diatoms over EVERYTHING!

What is 'dipping a coral'? I have yet to add my first coral and I want to make sure that I do it right.

"dipping" a coral refers to treating corals with a product or "dip" before adding it to the tank. Dips include coral rx, revive, and iodine solutions. By dipping the corals you are trying to remove unwanted pests that can harm or kill your corals such as acropora eating flatworms, red bugs, nudibranchs, and worms. Hope that helps
