So what do I mean by "what's next?"

Well we're always tinkering and toying with our reef tanks but many times it's because something isn't quite right. Maybe it's an algae issue, acros not coloring up or a slew of other things. The hardest thing to do is to sit back and wait so we like to try new things. It's not always the best idea in this hobby!

So for me lately I have been dealing with GHA or green hair algae. I've tried a few different things and had some success but I just can't beat it all back. So what's next? Well let's talk about that today!

What are you thinking about trying next and why are you thinking about it?

I got rid of almost all my GHA with peroxide. For me what’s next is AWC . With my current work load and family load and just life I have missed several water changes and my tank has suffered from it . So I am now in research mode and getting parts mode . I have a 300 gallon storage tank for my salt just got to get some more pieces to start trying it out

I'm always trying things to improve upon. Recently I added micro air valves to both of my skimmers. Both were direct out air lines. Adding these valves make it easier to fine tune my skimmers. BRS did a series of skimmer vids that gave me the idea and these inexpensive valves made alot of difference in my skimmers performance.

Thinking about trident or other alkalinity continuous measurement. I travel a lot and alkalinity is tough to control when I’m gone.

My current system? No. But it's also only 3 days old.

As far as "new" I went bigger, finally switched to a sump with a drilled tank, got a wavemaker gyre, started a basic refugium and went with a much thinner sand bed.

So, now I'm where most of you were 10-15 years ago. Slowly catching up!

Nothing overly complicated but doing a DIY screen cover for my aquarium. Its a pretty funky shape but should have something done this weekend. Then off to buy a firefish and perhaps a fairy wrasse.

Adding the UV I bought 18 months ago to clear up some problem algae/bacteria.
Adding some Berghia Nudis to eat the aps in my sump. don't know how they got there, but they are HUGE. At least a half a dozen in there. Not a single one in the DT.

Im adding a freshwater LED plant light to my 65 gallon, dedicated to a single jeweled moray. I want to grow macro algae. Think it will look neat!

What's next ? Setting up my 75g in-wall with new live rock from TBsaltwater going bare bottom and get rid off those gsp corals that are invading my 40g.

I'm not usually one for change but I going to shake things up in the 150g (a little bit). In the 75g, I only dosed 2-part and nothing else (i.e. Reef Roids, Aminos, etc.). In the 150g, I'm trying out Tropic Marin's Balling products (parts A, B, and C along with A-, K+, and the magnesium). I ordered an ICP to see where it is now and will do another in a couple of months to see how it looks. I also grabbed some Brightwell Coral Amino.

I didn't have any issues with the 75g but why keep it simple and fairly inexpensive when you can buy another powerbar, three more pumps, and a small fortune on supplements...

Building glass mounted/floating rock. Not any good options out there. I want real live rock. Not the cement crap thats out there Just need to order the appropriate magnets. Just pricey to get the right ones here in Canada. Hopefully can sell them up here once I start just need to keep the cost down

Just Started dosing minor trace elements, amino acids, and strontium on a regular basis. Decided to go with all Brightwell Aquatics products. Final step in this progression will be to evaluate the iodine needs and dosing that if needed.

Switching everything over from our 120 to our new 220.6 waterbox , whenever it shows up .
