I just got the new ai primes16 reefs for my tank that I switched out for the older HD ones and wish I never had. For the life of me they do not match colour I Got a new one under warranty and it’s doing the same thing . I think I’m going to bite the bullet and try xr 15’s

Stability in a 25G AIO Lagoon is a challenge. Managing phosphates (and unwanted algae) is my challenge du jour ... trying a HOB refugium & ROWAPhos in a reactor.

It's funny now, but back then it was "cutting edge" stuff. It looked like a boat prop hanging off the side of the tank. Ryans got pics & clips of them on a couple of his vids. Local clubs had DIYs to build these things - connect that to an Apex... lol

I’ve picked up a couple of clumps go Gha so I’ll get a few more emeralds from my lfs and see what happens. It’s funny, all measurable factors are stable, but some space opened up and the Gha grew. I’m also going to add a few trace elements supposed to help chaeto growth.

Not always. I used to feel the same way, especially at the expense of this hobby. After you've been in it awhile you get a sense of trust from those who can back up their actions. (Not Facebook answers) Once you're comfortable w/your tank and are accustomed to it's tendencies, you make a small change then let it play out. Rule #1 patience - don't expect instant results (You're not going to get them) this is nature and it's based on her time frame not yours. That's the hardest thing for reefers to learn. We've all grown up expecting results and nowadays folks want instant results - not happening w/a reef tank. If you do get instant results w/your reef tank, I'm willing to bet 99% they're bad results.

Think of it this way - you're in charge of water management (IE: city water, pool co...) and the inhabitants are relying on you to provide a safe & healthy environment - if you fail they get sick and/or die. You are the "water manager & they are the guests".

Gonna try a pool (diatom) filter plumbed in-line.
 
I will be adding AWC to my 150G. Just need to figure out how I will run the water lines under the house to the garage.

No problem with my 200 DT. But trying to decide if I want to continue my 90 FW african tank or replace it with my empty ATM, 28 cube as a frag tank or second SW tank. Not enough room for all 3. The wife wants to try to minimize clutter in the house.
 
I've had my tank set up for about 15 years with a sump underneath the tank. As I get older, it's getting more of a pain to get down on my knees and work under the tank so I'm considering moving to a much larger sump in the basement, maybe 75 or 100 gallons (tank is 225). I'm concerned about the temperature differential as my basement is about 55 degrees much of the year living in the Northeast.

Doing research now before reaching any final conclusions. Any and all advice is welcome.
