Hi R2R, New to the Forum and to the Hobby, I have been researching and following tank builds for years. Other week wife and I went by a friends house who had an AMAZING reef tank, and the wife could tell I wanted to start one, so she gave the go ahead and the next day I found this used 75g reef ready tank and stand for 100.00 from local aquarium maintenance shop.

Just got done doing 2.5 day leak test and no leaks anywhere, wife is painting/refinishing the stand.
Few pics of how she wanted to do the stand, we decided to go all white and not the pattern on the door.

This weekend will be painting inside of the stand all white and putting waterproof sealant over that,
and also cleaning the tank and painting the back black with rustoleum top sider.

Yesterday got BRS 5 stage RODI unit and Reef Octo Skimmer order and on the way. Im 90% sure i will be going the triton method and am close to pulling the trigger on ordering Synergy Reef TS-34 Triton.

So freaking excited about this build, and alot of work ahead of me, but so far this is the start.
Will be updating here as I go, Pics below:
Cheers!

Looks awesome. Probably very obvious but I wouldn't paint the inside of the hood!

I painted the inside of my canopy white and wish I had with previous setups as the wood took a beating in there from the moisture. I really like having the canopy to keep light from entering the room.

75s are a nice size to work with; it has been a nice tank but I'm really looking forward to the 150g getting finished. These build threads are fantastic for spit-balling ideas for your own setups :)

Came across good deal in 2 hydra 26hds. Will that be enough for 75 gallon tank? Planning on mixed sps and lps. I can score two for 500 ish or should I just get the radions prosefor 800 each?

Made some more progress today, stand almost complete and got the back of the tank painted, still need to clean the glass little more. Bout to go pickup some vinegar. Looking great so far!!!

Not sure why that same picture posted like 6 times.

Because this is a build thread, you should be able to go back and edit the post. Posts in other forums are only editable for a period of time. If you are linking to an outside photo service (the only style of embedding that I know), in edit mode, you can just highlight the duplicate photos and delete them. Then save the edited post and they will be gone
