I was just showing that setting up to flow length wise is fine and done in peninsulas regularly

Here's the look we're going for.
This is 2ft x 2ft, I may go as short as 1ft x 1ft color sections.
Now I need to decide whether or not to paint the slip/slip couplers connecting them together?!

Definitely leave gray. You may be able to alternate colors if you paint the unions for some fun. I would leave gray though

If you want you can label each piece individually similar to the lego booklet so when you put it together you're simply gluing piece A to piece H and union to pipe B etc.

Like this. Then I painted it black.

Andrew wants blue and something. If he can find a way to light clear pipe with LEDs, stand by...

I like my blue and white combination...

There was also mention of clear PVC. Cost prohibitive in my world and it won't stay pretty and clear for long.

Just had a very blunt discussion about the new tank. It is going to happen. I have been patient. Andrew has been patient. He deserves this. I am going to make this a reality for him. I have gathered everything over time. @Lowell Lemon made his dream sump and reservoir. Our lights are older, but they work. Together with all of your help, this tank will be amazing!

I have been saving up zoa frags for him. I have a few on the rack now. Once it's cycled I'll have a good bit for him.

Katrina you said ice pack under styrofoam. I’m confused put ice pack in cooler then a layer of Styrofoam then fish? Or sit styrofoam cooler on ice pack?
My car will be colder the 78 so I don’t think it’s a problem. Mostly if I had a car failure and need to keep them cool.

What is everyone’s favorite cooler

I use a cheap styrofoam cooler. Yes ice packs under cooler if you have an emergency.
