Beautiful Tank !! LOVE the size. I do see one thing that concerns me though and this IS NOT meant as criticism. The sump stand doesn't seem like it will last very long. I say this as it looks like you used 1x2's or furring strips for the frame. I'm hoping that's plywood for the base and not MDF or particle board. It looks unfinished and will act like a giant spong absorbing every little drop of water that is spilled on it. That closet is also going to be very humid and this will add to the wood absorbing moisture. I would have built the frame of 2x4's stood on edge and covered with 3x4" plywood or board stock and than liberally coated with paint or better yet, sealed with resin. As I said it's a beautiful setup, those things just caught my eye.

Tank is looking really good. Do you happen to have any pictures of when you made the two pillars? I'm in the process of building out a 65 gallon rimless which is 36x20x20 and will be using AI Sols also. I was thinking of incorporating t5s into my light setup also. What kind of t5 fixtures did you use?

Hey Bobby,

The sump stand looks flimsier then it is. I have a couple 4x4 braces underneath. I also have about a quart of paint on this stand. There are two drains. One under the pump and one in the sump. The drain under the return pump is is I have a leak. Most of the mechanical features are on or over that stank. The sump drain is connected to a ball valve for water changes. They both are connected to a drain that goes through the wall and outside. I have an exhaust fan that vents the humid warm air out of the closet and into the adjacent room.

I will look to see if I took any picture. On the first page I believe I have a picture of the fiber glass rods I used. I got those from home depot. It's really quit easy. I just stacked them up until I got the desired height and look and then used a 1/4 x 12: drill bit to drill the holes. For the base I used 1/4" plexi from home depot. Measure your support rod to length and cut. Cut a peace of the plexi about 12x12. Drill a hole through to match the diameter of the rod. Cut a second 2"x2" square peace of plexi and drill a hole in that as well. Glue the 2 peaces of plexi together, insert the rod and secure with reef safe epoxy and let dry. 24 hours later stack your rock onto the rods and place back into your tank.

Hello again. Long time since I updated. The tank is doing great. Lots of mini colonies that are starting to color up nicely. I took this with my iPhone so please excuse the bad quality. It looks like a 1980s sifi. It's actually really cool to watch. I am determined to figure out how to do a good quality video. The tank is really not this blue. Its more like a 18 - 20k MH. If anyone can make suggestions how to take a good video I am all ears

I also ordered one Radion to replace the front AI Sol Blue. I want to add a bit more red and green.
