Is this the kind of thing class action lawsuits are for?
I'm not an attorney. But I would think that such an action would force Red Sea to acknowledge and make good.

This is the type of thing that should be in class action IMO but unless the lawyers can get their millions they have no reason to tackle it. Every class action I've been invited to join the attorneys and maybe the original plaintiff are the only ones that get anything worth while. Is this the kind of thing class action lawsuits are for? haha
Just FYI:Is this the kind of thing class action lawsuits are for?

There was a new thread earlier this week about a g2 that just had a seam burstConsidering the cost to floors and life I’d skip the replacement and go seek a better option. Unless they are willing to replace with the newer versions I’ve not heard the seam issues with. Guessing might need a new stand but beats another event like this.

I’m not sure but some people are claiming it was g1 the sump design was different from g2.There was a new thread earlier this week about a g2 that just had a seam burst

Red Sea Reefer 350 G2 catastrophic failure
This should come as a surprise to no one here, but the front seal on our Red Sea Reefer 350 G2 failed catastrophically last night and the whole tank emptied onto our floor in just a few minutes. We reached out to their support team to seek remedy for the impact to us and premature loss on this...www.reef2reef.com
The size of the fish have nothing to do (even remotely) with the failures. The tanks and stands are just flawed. What is your biggest fish in that tank? I have seen a trend of RS tanks getting massive leaks like that due to the stocking of larger fauna.
Then best just go another direction because cost of cleanup in both dollars and stress just not worth itThere was a new thread earlier this week about a g2 that just had a seam burst

You have had two of their tanks fail and are being talked into a 3rd one... sunk cost fallacy? Thanks everyone. Red Sea called me directly shortly after submitting the ticket and are trying to help. ~3 months out of warranty and they want to honor it with their new model. They weren’t able to tell me that their seem technology has been improved, but did reference various structural improvements to stand and tank construction. To be honest I’m uneasy moving forward with another Red Sea tank, but the customer service and optimism about their new design is weighing strong compared to starting over with another brand and the associated costs/logistics
To what end, feeling better about punishing them? The class members are not likely to get much and those who are the base class plaintiffs will spend far more time and trouble than it is worth. The discovery will take a year or two at best and judgment maybe 5 years down the road.Is this the kind of thing class action lawsuits are for?

Your letter will not likely reach him, but rather their council who will file it in the wastebin. At best you may get a form letter back thanking you for contacting them and wishing you the best along with the rest of their happy customers.IMO...and maybe unpopular opinion, there should be a recall on these, and maybe a group letter sent to this guy:

For me, it wouldnt be about personal monetary gain, but about the continuation of selling defective to consumers who haven't heard of these issues.....BTW, you can stop a business during the discovery phase.....To what end, feeling better about punishing them? No need to even go that route.....Social Media (positive or negative) is a big thing these days....Your letter will not likely reach him, but rather their council who will file it in the wastebin. You can't strong arm a CEO in a situation like this. They know what is going on already and they are not going to risk saying anything to you directly. You can hire council to force a response, that will be from their council to yours and likely another polite "have a nice day" response. In other words, sue us or don't but be prepared to fight if you do.
