Help! My Midas Blenny is in trouble.

**Edit** Looks Specifically at the fins. Looks like dust. Those spots cover his whole body.

Sometimes no spots and the parasite affects the gills only, important to note.

Copper treatment on all fish, dt must be fallow for 76 days to let velvet die out...treatment is the same for ich and velvet so it will cover both diseases. If it's really bad you can try a formalin dip before treatment
 
So i found my Midas, he is still alive. Laying on the sand, barely moving. It looks bloated.

Correct me if I'm wrong....ich ussually doesn't come in that massive amounts unless left u noticed for a good while, velvet on the other hand comes rapidly. One day a fish would be normal and the next would be like the pics....covered....that was a pic used by humble if I remember correctly to give the OP an idea of what velvet is.

Did they show up rapidly or just a few here or there every couple days? Either way if it's ich or velvet copper will take care of both, get all fish out of dt, into a qt, and treat all fish with copper. I use coppersafe and api test kit to get to therapeutic levels of copper. (1.5 to 2) also never use copper tank for anything else but copper....same with all equipment . ALSO NOTE TO KEEP DT FALLOW FOR 76 DAYS. This will ensure that velvet dies off and is not in the dt when u move the fish back. Treat with copper for a minimum of 30 days. Get an seachem ammonia badge to monitor ammonia. You can buy live bacteria to start the seed of bacteria to help with ammonia. DO NOT PUT ANY ROCKS OR SAND in qt with copper as it will absorb the copper and drop the level in the water column. You can use a sponge for the bacteria to live on to go through nitrification cycle.

No problem at all....fallow means no fish what so ever....ich and velvet need a host (fish) to latch on and feed off of. Essentialy with out fish they starve and die and disrupts the cycle....if u don't wait for the 76 days there's a possibility that an ich or velvet trophant could be alive still and once u introduce fish back in they latch themselves on the fish and feed off of it and then the cycle begins again aND they live and will infect any fish it is capable of latching onto
