Help! My Midas Blenny is in trouble.

Can

Can I reuse the tank as a QT tank?
Yes. But only for qt, sincee it will have had copper in it, only fish can go in it....when you do copper keep in mind mandarins cannot handle copper so don't put them in

Are any other fish showing signs? I wouldn't do anything to drastic like medicating all my fish unless I was positive I had an outbreak... have you changed your maintenance schedule at all in the past week? What are your water parameters looking like?

This is the only fish that is showing any signs so far. I'm just going to treat this one for now, and keep an eye on the rest. At least for now. My tank is in such bad shape, i think in a couple of months, as soon as i can afford it, I'm going tho tear it down and redo it.

So i can never get all the copper out of it. No corals in it? I guess its no big deal, it was only $13.

Correct. But if your other fish have been in the same tank as the blebny then they have been exposed so they do have it just no signs yet....they might be a bit better at fighting it but why take that chance?

The Blenny has only been in the tank for a couple weeks. Outta going tho be a chore getting the other fish out. I guess I'll sleep on it, i spent all day today getting the Blenny out and setting up the QT.

One day let alone a week is enough time...big chance but up to you. Get the fish out and qt properly, or risk it and possibly end up doing it all over again later blenny included

So, it is still hanging on, but it still wont eat. Its still laying on its side on the bottom of the qt. Is there some way i can get it some nutrients?

Try adding garlic amd selcon into the food. Just soak it in both...then feed

So he has stringy white poop, what does that mean? Isn't that a sign of some kind of infection?
What you will want to do is once done treating with copper, you want to do a water change and run carbon for a day or so to get the copper out, then treat with prazipro...

That's if he survives the copper treatment.

I'd get live food then. If you can get some brine shrimp eggs I can walk you through setting up a hatchery amd getting eggs in to hatch baby brine shrimp to feed for live food
