I had a sabae anemone for several years, and it got stuck in the powerhead once. It was bad enough where I couldn't get it out. When it comes to nature, I try to be hands off where possible. It's easy to do too much and make the situation way worse. Anyway, it clearly wasn't dead, so I shut off the powerhead and let it be. Eventually, it worked itself out, spent a bunch of time healing, and found a nice place to live in the sand and it stayed there until I had to get rid of the tank due to a leak. I also put something over the powerhead to prevent it from happening again.
And as an aside, I had a moment a few days ago where I was "99% sure" a turbo snail had died. It wasn't moving, wasn't responding to touch, and was kind of hanging out of its shell. I decided to just watch closely and after two days, the snail was out and about chowing down on algae again.
