How to make R2R better in 2019

I realize that a lot of you really like R2R as it is and we are so glad of that! That being said we want to make it even better and the best it can be! There is always room to improve!

Can you think of something or somewhere we can improve on that would make R2R even better?

Is there a good reason to do this as opposed to simply embedding ones YouTube video?

Sure. Some people don't have YouTube channels. People can still embed YouTube vids, but this would eliminate the NEED for a YT or other 3rd party hosting service. Also, having stuff hosted here allows people to avoid any issues if a 3rd party site decides to do something crazy (remember the great PhotoBucket blowout?)
 
Maybe an improved search where one could get more specific.

Your first live sale can be intimidating for sure, but you just have to go for it! Reason you're going to an outside site from here is b/c each vendor has their own point of sale system that they need to use. R2R is for communication not actual sales. I doubt Rev would want to deal with payments, etc for all the various vendors that hold live sales, and I'm sure the various vendors don't want to have to add in another payment/transaction method into their way of doing things too. Just jump in and give it a shot...it's a lot of fun!

You can also usually score a good bunch of goodies "after" the live sales happen.

How about expanding into the other areas of Aquatics. I know many here keep freshwater aquariums as well as terrariums for poison dart frogs an the like. Making R2R to go to place for all Aquatics hobbyist would create a synergy lifting R2R into another level in the hobby in general.

I was coming here to make just that suggestion. I have a live plant freshwater tank and I have yet to find a good place to go for reliable information in a friendly atmosphere. R2R is such a great community that I now have high standards. I'd love to see this.

Increase the capacity of the "recent threads" on home page, maybe with showing multiple pages. I don't know if that is a feature many go straight to, but it's the best way to have your post seen if someone isn't looking at a specific category. But, with the amount of traffic and posts on this site, a post is gone from "recent threads" within about 5 minutes sometimes if not answered.

EDIT: Case in Point, look how quick this reply went to the bottom

I'm lazy.

I have started 3 tanks, built numerous custom things, renoed my basement for my tank, and not tracked any of it.

When I work, I work, like task must get done.

My wife says it's my greatest strength and weakness haha.

But yeah, I need to take photos and put it on this board more.

Oh an maybe in the seller have a flag or thing for sellers that have a CITES II export license and will ship to Canada.

For only newbies. Offer membersbip with 12 or less easy payments. Add merchant fees to it. Becayse more than one charge.;)

I gotta ask, when would a person use the Vulcan, Pigeon, Panda, AND what is STIG?
the point being only half is relavent and several that arr arr Missing . Pirate for one and how about a lite bulb for Idea ect . Defenently a STRONGER spell checker.

A REAL NEWS feed is absent. A Industry Publication even if its a weekly or monthly issue would be welcomed as long as it was not a advertisement but real news. RB is a fun glimpse but still just a
advertisement.

An easy to post welcome banner.

A tank volume calculator.

A drain volume calculator.


Maybe I have not seen or looked in the right place for these, not sure, but these are things I've looked for recently and did not find here.
