In 40 minutes my county goes into shelter until April 7th. We can only leave our homes to go to the hospital or the grocery store. My LFS closed early today so they could prep their own homes before I had a chance to go and get more mysis. All non-essential business are closed mandatory until April 7th and will most likely be increased longer. I’m really worried about what I’m going to do. I have enough frozen food for about a week and a half. Old pellets for maybe another week or two. My county has over 300 of the 400 cases currently in California.
I’m really feeling like an idiot for not taking this more seriously and stocking up on food and everything needed for all my animals.
Really stressed over here.

I probably have enough supplies to run the tank for a couple of months or longer. I don't expect water or power to shut down, this isn't a snow storm or hurricane. Form what I gather is the best thing to do is stay home and limit contact with people which is basically what this hobby entails.

Does anyone know how the online reef presence is handling this? Are big stores like BRS, Marine Depot, even Chewy and Petco halting online sales?

How about WWC and the like? No coral sales while we all sit at home?

So I was just thinking if there is going to be so much downtime maybe some fellow reefers will start fragging some coral to pass the boredom. So if you over frag I'll certainly take that overstock of your hands;):p

Please drop by. Selling by the pound.

Sorry @Hemmdog . Starting to feel like I have been a bit too casual in stock up myself. My LFS is still open so going to run in there today. One thing for you: at least here in Fairfield Co., the one section that does NOT seem hoarded is the fresh fish section. Grab some clams, raw shrimp, some oily fish, scallops. Rinse it all thoroughly (as some spray preservatives on fish). Chuck it in the freezer. Then mince it up (frozen) and add what frozen food (and nori) you have to it and portion out into some small tupperware containers and keep frozen until you need it. Although it is a messy process I have to do when wife isn't looking, my tanks LOVE this mix. When I make a batch it lasts me a month -- about 12 little tuppers full.

Hang in there.

About the arms length gloves... got a link to those?

Good tips, I may need to do that in the next week. These are the gloves I use.

No need to panic... there's plenty of food to go around... talked to someone last night and most of the online stores will remain open and work with a skeleton crew to keep orders going.

ive got frozen shell on mussels, and shell on shrimp from when i had puffers. if it comes down to it, ill thaw, chop, and make a slurry, I forgot about that actually. I guess my fish are more prepared than the rest of us.

I don't have any premade water, but have an RO/DI system so making water isn't an issue. I did just get some frozen food this weekend from my LFS which as far as I know will remain open at least for now. I guess if I need more, I could order from BRS. I also have a case of reef crystals for WC.

We haven't been ordered to stay home yet, but a lot of larger businesses have been ordered to work from home (I work in a small office so it doesn't apply to me).

BRS stated they closed the walk-in traffic but remaining open and selling online.
