Possibly, but I would think RO has the size and influence to tell even Aperture to kick rocks. Losing Reef Octopus would likely be worse for BRS than vice versa.
You're right; RO is a staple within their product family. It will be interesting to watch the chess match. Four to five years ago, BRS used to list how many of an individual item was in stock, but they don't do that anymore. At that time, I was amazed that they listed 212 units of a single ~$1000 item in their inventory.
I purchased an RO skimmer from Premium Aquatics a month ago (I like them a lot). It had to be drop-shipped from CoralVue as they did not carry it in inventory. My guess is that 50% or more of all mail-order reefing supplies sent to consumers in the US come from Bulk Reef. I'd bet they are much larger than all of the US mail-order alternatives combined, if so that is a position of considerable strength.
Thomas actually did review Hydros. Thomas was working with Carlos at Coralvue to get up to speed of all the modules Hydros had at the time. The videos will never surface now as it was held up when Bertram came into the picture. They were planning how to videos as well for Hydros at one point.
Hi - only two pages in but I am not sure what other answer you want.
BRS clearly indicated that both GHL and Hydros are being removed from their inventory. Moreover the owner of GHL made a very clear announcement at two days ago (and linked above) that they are mutually parting ways. CV showed up here a few posts later and while not addressing the situation directly, tactfully addressed it as well.
Both appear top have enough tact to not attack BRS or drag this out in a public forum. I am not sure what else you are looking for unless it is the dirt on why two major brands have parted ways with BRS.
When a rep from Coralvue hops into a thread inquiring about its future with BRS it is well within reason to ask them directly instead of speculating. But thank you for the recap, I've read the thread.
Tact and situational awareness? Its a business move that has apparently already taken place, not some highly sensitive situation. GHL guy popped in and posted its clear statement and its not even a GHL thread.
I do ~40 pounds maybe twice a year. It is not that hard. I built a calculator to make the math easy and use what is called "equilibrium" curing and a pellet smoker. No brine, no soaking and testing and trying to get the salt taste right each batch. It comes out 100% predictable each time. Prior to that it never came out the same twice. Always good, but sometimes too salty, sometimes too much smoke or "bad" smoke, as we used a stick burner and it was not consistent.

Hi - I didn't imply that the situation was sensitive or hadn't taken place. Of course it already happened, as BRS "discontinued" the items from both vendors and both vendors published information indicating the dissolution of their business relationships.
The "tact" I spoke of was both Matthias and the CV rep respectfully and appearing in the thread but not bad mouthing BRS or discussing the details and letting the situation and published documents from all three vendors speak for themselves. It was handled professionally, as it should have been. You tagged one of them directly and they did not respond. I think that pretty much sums up my point.
The whole conversation is based on your response to the other poster about "tea leaves" and not being qualified to answer the question asked, when the answer was all around you. That's all.
I have not attacked you (or anybody) and there is no argument other than your barbs toward me. I get it, you dislike me, but if you can't respond without being combative then I suggest placing me on ignore or reporting whatever it is you think I have done wrong.
That's funny a few years back I went to your website to refresh on the silent overflow and it led me to the other articles. I remember thinking to myself, "Bean is off having fun in other hobbies"
All bacon but Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza is very good... on a side note a local sweet shop used to have what they called a bacon lollipop but it was honestly just chocolate covered bacon on a stick. They also had a maple glazed one
