Man has been on YouTube since like 2008 I don’t get why that upsets anyone. You build up a successful business and retire early that is many people’s dream. When you devote your whole life to a company you miss your kids growing up and you can’t get that back.

I do not think anyone is upset and think most understand.
Timing is odd.
I also bet when he sold he had a contract to stick around for a certain amount of time to transition.

When the sale was announced, multiple people chimed in they worked for companies bought out by Bertram. They give a 3 year contract and then sell off shortly after. That was roughly 3 years ago

Aperture exclusively distributes these brands.

Didn't know about Aquaforest. I don't really use their stuff.

D-D is David Saxby's company. They list a ton of products... I'm not sure what their affiliation with each of these is. I thought they make Rowa and Deltec?

Personally, I am just going to avoid Aperture brands. It won't be difficult for me (other than MP40s).

Man if I was any of those companies I would be nervous about hitching up to an exclusive partnership with a brand that seems to only care about their owned brands.

Also, regarding Neptune's future, I think CoralVue's tenacity in the market has Neptune pretty worried to be honest. CoralVue doesn't need to convert long time Apex users, they just need to capture the new market with a more friendly user interface and solid product features, which it seems like they are easily accomplishing. However, it also seems like they are converting a lot of Apex users to Hydros as well, anecdotally. I haven't seen any postings that I can recall of Hydros users switching to Apex because they were frustrated.

How so? On my end I had nothing but good things to say. Never touched BRS until Marine Depot croaked, got a taste of BRS and their meh customer service and they are a hard pass for me @ this point.

None have wired ethernet connections. Only downside to Hydros.

No ethernet but you can get the pin out and make your own cables I did for controlling 3 viparspectra leds

Are there a lot of reports of their wifi chips being subpar like Neptune? Has Neptune just gotten everyone nervous about wifi? If they use good wifi chips there will be no problem and and no need for hardwired connections. I've lost count of all the wifi devices in my house and I don't have issues with any of them. The only device that's hardwired in my house is my Ring alarm, not even my gaming PC. Wifi has come such a long way that it is extremely dependable.

Agree-although I am disappointed in the changes for BRS, I don't see how anyone can hate on Ryan Batchelor. He had an idea, took a chance, worked his behind off, built a respectable business, and made an adult choice to (I presume) take a step back and dedicate more time to his growing family as well as ensure their financial security. I can't fault him for any of that, and as much as I would like to see him putting out youtube videos every day, he never made me any promises and doesn't 'owe' me anything.

Love my Ryzen 3600x, still performing like a champ since 2020. Also got a 6700xt in 2021 that plays everything I want it to at 1440p.

Hi do you have a picture of that? Is there the possibility of DIY adding an ethernet port by soldering a RJ45 port to some internal pins? That will be the key for me. Only using 5Ghz wifi exclusively and wired connection. No plans to add 802.11 2.4Ghz protocols on my wifi.

You can get a 2.4ghz AP very cheap. I have a 2.4ghz only AP that is used to control all of my smart home devices with the exception of my Hydros gear. The Hydros gear works just fine on 5GHZ.

This is the AP I have for my smart devices for home control $20 TP-Link WiFi Access Point TL-WA801N, 2.4Ghz 300Mbps

Again you don't need 2.4ghz for Hydros gear. All of mine runs on my main household 5ghz system.

Oh good! Then is this old info then? Also I held back from getting the hydros because originally they didn't have a wired controlled power strip. Very happy that they have the wired XP8 Energy Bar.
If only there's a wired ethernet port on some of their controllers.

There is none that I am aware of, why would you want a wired connection anyway, their controllers connect to WI-FI.
