Whoops. Sorry. Not sorry. Was expecting a 10am coral delivery. Got an update saying delivery attempted. I said ain’t nobody knocked on this door. Then I said are you going to refund my shipping? They said you will have to contact the shipper. I said the shipper was not responsible for delivering my package you guys were

Some perspective.

After all, there is a worldwide pandemic going on...

Probably best talking to UPS.

Stick em with the reimbursement and don’t let up an inch. Tell them they need to turn that truck around because you have been waiting by the door for this package all morning!

Yes I understand. I am a nurse working at a hospital. Just needed to vent. My patients and my livestock are important to me

UPS has suspended it guarantees on their shipping for the time being. They are swamped and right now you are taking a risk ordering livestock.

fiwiw, the R2R I found a local hobbyist and picked up 7 frags yesterday for a lot less than I would have spent on an online purchase plus the savings on shipping. After working out the details online and by text, we did a 2 second exchange outdoors both wearing masks from arms length (idea for a SNL drug deal skit).

Now that Petco is closed aside from curbside pick up, I ordered a TDS meter and alk and CA solutions online as these aren't urgent deliveries.

I feel for the online livestock vendors, but I understand why UPS had to suspend their overnight delivery guarantees. So I have adjusted my purchases accordingly.

They said we can deliver the package tomorrow. I said nope. That won’t work. Where can I pick it up today

Yes I understand. Please refer to Water dogs post and my reply. Have not bought online only local pick up until this purchase but found a coral I had been looking for for almost a year so bought it

Thanks for venting here! We got your back. Sometimes they allow you to meet the driver or drop on a new location within the drivers route back. Rarely will they allow you to pick it up the same day it was sent out for delivery. Because the drivers work till the end of day before returning to base.

Vent here, we’ll listen and support you. :) But please go easy on those delivery drivers and call center people. With walk in retail essentially nonexistent, these people are getting absolutely crushed by the sheer volume of increased online ordering since this crisis began.

understood, I was an active participant in that thread. When I reply to folks, often I am doing it for other readers as well. You weren't the first member who had the misfortune of a UPS failed delivery and I am sure not the last. I am not sure it's widely known that UPS has suspended their overnight guarantee, it doesn't sound like that is being conveyed when people select the option online.

I trust these threads will prevent another enthusiasts from experiencing an unpleasant surprise when they find out UPS isn't guaranteeing shipping and that that took an unknown risk. I didn't know that until I looked it up when participating in that other thread.

those drivers are delivering to a lot of nursing homes and hospitals so they can pay their rent and feed their families

@Thespammailaccount Your work at the hospital is much appreciated and my sincere empathy in being let down today after dealing with what has to be an extremely stressful daily work life for you.

Been looking for almost a year for a neon pink Goni a colony not a frag. The two brothers in the tank waiting for their sister

Sorry about your frustration.

There are more important things going on in the world right now and getting frustrated probably isn't doing anyone any good. Furthermore, I personally wouldn't be ordering any live stock let alone anything that was not family essential right now. Shipping regardless of carrier are changing protocols and things are bound to happen.

I wouldn't risk it now. I don't order live stock in the summer. And I don't order during certain months in the winter. All for this reason.

Thank you. I knew when I saw this piece up for auction there might be an issue with the delivery but had been looking for this piece for so long so rolled the dice
