I almost ripped UPS a new one

I can definitely tell you this person is not smart at all. UPS next day air commit is 10:30 not 10:00. You probably overslept. Stop your crying
Actually up at 4:00am. Let me guess you work for UPS too. O hey probably something to keep in mind before you say delivery attempted and not even go to the door some people have video doorbells. Just saying

You must work for UPS. Lying is unacceptable. You folks at UPS need to do better than that

No, I don't. Not sure why you would even think that other than me suggesting that your reaction isn't probably the wisest now with the current pandemic going on in the world. You are suggesting they are lying who is to say that they didn't knock on the door. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter. I just find it odd with your line of profession that you felt the need to post a brag about how you almost ripped the UPS a new one.

Most folk place buying fish and corals today outside the essential category. Regardless of how long they have wanted it.

No the delivery driver did not knock on the door. This has happened several times prior to the virus. I remain glued to the couch right by the door because this keeps happening. At the end of the day it does not matter if I have been lied to? You must either be an attorney or a used car salesman

T
My main problem with UPS this delivery is the simple fact that they said delivery was attempted which it was not no ring of the doorbell no knock no nothing. Yep almost ripped them a new one and would do it again. They did not even attempt delivery. The good news however is that I get to pick up my package tonight at 7:45pm

they recently started using the “delivery was attempted status”, when they are late delivering the package and it won’t be delivered that day. Why, they use it, no idea?

fwiw check your address on GPS. If this is recurring, the driver GPS may be taking him/her to your neighbor. try with waze and google maps. Wrong GPS coordinates are not unusual.

Neither again. But I also wouldn't be someone who feels the need to bash UPS during the current pandemic on a forum nor would I be one to order livestock. Especially as you stated above "it" keeps happening.

Perhaps perhaps not but that does not explain why I have received several “delivery attempted” prior to the virus when the driver probably did not even get their butt out of the vehicle

Pandemic doesn’t give them a justification to lie. Also, PPE probably only amounts to a tiny bit of their actual deliveries.

On a side note, am I getting tired of the self righteous that just HAVE to bring up the pandemic and act like it’s the only thing to worry about.

Life will go on, pandemic or not. I’m going to use that same line of reasoning next time a hurricane takes out 100k Members.

EDIT: OP - This is super common with all carriers. Some people are just ish workers, pandemic or not.

To everyone else - Drop the self righteous “it’s a pandemic” line already. There is NO justification for lying. These UPS drivers are being paid handsomely and need to act professional under stress.

And oh hey, I’m an essential worker keeping your lights on so I don’t want to hear it.

This is standard procedure with Fedex at my job. They always have an excuse not to deliver. Covid or not.

The reason always is "attempted delivery - business closed". Meanwhile there is 40 people there until 5PM with receptionist, etc. Calling the center gets nothing resolved, you'll be happy if you can pickup the same day yourself.

Clearly we do not see eye to eye. A lie is a lie. And it keeps happening and like I said before it would happen before the virus.

If a coworker of mine went in to care for a patient with the current virus and walked out of the room in their personal protective equipment and walked into another room to care for a patient let’s say this patient was one of your family members that did not have the virus. Would you say something? Would you mind if I said something? Mistakes/negligence happens right we should thank them and offer them a raise?

It is what it is. Not sure why people are going all raging on a reef forum about ups.

There is 100% NOTHING any one of us can do about it. Don’t like like it, start your own delivery company. Until then, deal with it.

So the new norm is expect the normal routine in the middle of a pandemic on a non essential item? Most people probably wouldn't have ordered in the first place due to the "known" risks. Heck, there are a couple threads where this is discussed and even a podcast in which case it is mentioned. Similar ordering livestock in the summer or around the holiday shopping window.

There really is no justification for bragging on a web forum how they almost ripped ups a new one. Sounds like a typical internet bully or someone who belittles someone in a online game. In fact, your comment on "the UPS drivers being paid handsomely and need to act professional under stress" also applies to the profession the OP says they are in.

No one is saying they can't be upset or frustrated. But the whole they lied, sky is falling, and other nonsense needs to be scaled back. Doesn't matter if you agree about the pandemic or not most people are following the local, state, and federal regulations and sheltering in place.

Hell, I had a $1,400.00 item that said it required a signature upon receipt. Do you think they knocked on my door and requested it? Nope. They dropped it off as close as they could and left.

Guess what, I didn't come here and say I almost ripped them a new one.

Coral finally in the tank. It has opened up a little doing better than I thought it would

There is NO excuse for lying, especially in a professional setting. If you can’t make your delivery, say so. Don’t put that on the customer.

Edit: Nice straw man you pulled there bro.
And with that, I’m out. I don’t argue straw man arguments.

It’s company policy currently. It’s happening throughout UPS on a national level. I’m guessing due to the pandemic they have altered certain things, and this happens to be one of them.

Absolutely

Happened to me last week and last I checked I didn’t move.
Don’t see me on a reef forum acting like a psycho about it.
