Jebao WP-40 Unboxing and Review

I will NOT say they are better, however all pumps will break at some point. I just look at it, I paid $150 for 2 WP25s shipped, thats almost half of a MP10, if one goes out ill order another. still under the cost of a single MP10

you all just answered my question so the wps are better than the mp's

I wouldn't say "better". The wp40 moves more water, has a similar undertow and wide flow, can be controlled by reef controllers, and can make wave patterns just like an mp40 can, for hundreds less. The Mp40 has a smaller footprint in the tank, with no wires in it. The WP40 is also much quieter.

The wp40 is the better value by far, but some people don't want any wires in the display.

Love to see a nice heated Discussion on these pumps. ill make sure to bet my $.02 IBTL.

I ordered a pair of these WP40 pumps along with 6 more in a group buy back in April. they arrived and I unboxed and installed in my 180 replacing a pair of Koralia 4's on each end of my tank. WOW! was my first impression. they looked good, felt well built and are very quiet. at first on full strength in Wave mode they blew the heads off my frogspawn. completely stirred up my not so fine sand. In my 6 foot tank, you could EASILY see the current reach the other end of the tank. it was side and very turbulent. I was glad I purchased the adjustable input power supply for them. this was Before their new controller. I now have them both at 19volts with one on the W1 mode and the other on Else mode. this gives me a good bouncy random flow across my entire 6 foot tank. I also have a closed loop setup with a dart pump. this used to run 24/7 along with the koralias and 1000GPH from my sump. Since the addition of the WP40's I now only run the CL for 12 hours at night. I installed the light sensor for the WP40's and it cuts them back SIGNIFICANTLY when the lights turn off. I let this cal water prevail for about an hour int eh evenings then my CL comes on to keep everything stirred up. it kicks off about an hour before the lights come back on.

I really like this setup. Combined with the pair of Seaswirls on my tank return, and the complete randomness of the Else mode, you never see the same flow twice. now, if only I could have the WP40's alternate between Else and W1 modes every hour (opposite of each other). that would be cool.

just googled fish street coupon. the code was fishstreet. saved almost $3...plus a bunch more coupons came up for them for reactors and such.

50%, 75% and 100% maximum speed in one of the wave modes, I forget which.
well im running else mode.. but s3 is lit up.. so I was kinda confused on the s modes.. doesn't the knob allow you to adjust speed why have these modes as well??

Glad to see this sparked some great dialogue! Mine is still running strong! Also, received the new controller a while back and the controllability is awesome! Definitely worth the $13 it cost me on Fishstreet:)
