[QUO TE=Chrissy;1820073]Nope, I took them out and added a media rack that has chemipure elite in it, and I use a piece of filter floss in the fine filter section. I've just accepted that I will always have nitrates in this tank, and I'm okay with it because all of the corals show excellent color and the fish are well fed and healthy.
I think that by adding the acro power to a reef that already has excess nutrients, just causes the nitrates to rise because they aren't needed. But, adding it to a reef that has 0 nutrients, it helps add those nutrients that are needed to keep the corals healthy. Everyone always says to keep nitrates at 0, but I have more success (better color and growth) in my tank that shows nutrients. My tanks with low or no nutrients have always had more faded coloring and I have had to add coral food.[/QUOTE]

Interesting... Don't the tanks not have separate timers for the blues and whites? How long do you get to run them for?

It has timers for the LED and the T5s- not separate for blue and white T5s. I rarely use the LEDs and all 6 T5s are on for 10 hrs a day.

I'm guessing you're not running a bunch of whites then?

I'm running 2 coral plus, 1 aqua blue special, 1 purple plus, and 2 blue plus. So 4 white and 2 blue.

1 week if use. Some color improvement, polyp extension looks the same. No noticeable improvement in growth, mine is always slow. Observed Duncan coral retract and not open as wide as it use to. Also, my pH is went up. It use to be 7.9-8.1, now averaging 8.1-8.2.

I'm not going to do my daily 3ml doses for a week and do one 20ml shot next week. I want to see if a difference can be seen by changing the dosing pattern. Anyone try doing it both ways?

Does 1 cap = 5 mL?

If so I've been dosing 20 mL weekly in my 180g (total volume) system. I've been getting some impressive growth from my Tyree Icefire Echinata, especially where I fragged the coral. An experiment you folks might want to try is to frag your acropora and see how much faster the new growth is compared to existing branches.

I have a 65g DT and a total system volume of ~80g. I think I would prefer to dose daily instead of all one shot weekly. So, what dose do you recommend I start with?

Ordered a bottle. I have 63 gallons of water volume. I'm going to switch from Elos aa to this and see if there's any difference Bc I think I'm having an cyano outbreak Bc of Elos aa. Just not sure about dosing wether to split dosing up 2-3 times a week or so all at once? Any advise ?

So, this thread was started mid December. Its been nearly 5 months so can anyone report that it DEFINITELY helps with SPS colour? I've seen many references to increased polyp extension, however, no strong indication/evidence that it increases SPS colours as advertised.

I wanted to try it, but I dont need more polyp extension...my acros have crazy PE already.

My bottle AP arrived today. Any suggestions?

The directions say 5 ml per 25 Gallons. So for you that would be 15 ML a week. For a daily dose it's 15 divided by 7 days....... A little more than 2 ML a day.

I personally haven't seen anything other than increased PE, I'm not sure I'll continue once the last 500 mls I have are used up, its been a few months and I can't see the justification to continue

No wonder Brad, your corals did look good from the get go.
I'm not sure if you get better color out of your corals than you already have.
Most ppl get better PE and that proofs in a way that you getting better health overall out of the coral long term.
That results in some what improved color and growth.
For me I'm on the limit after a 7 month use, don't think I can get any better PE, growth and color.
And for $10 a bottle of 500ml per month I don't think it's overkill, as you need to dose AA any ways.
This hobby is a process of stability and there isn't a total additives that can handle and tackle it all.
That's why we all love this hobby, and imo I'm happy that there isn't a bottle of quick fix and have a "reef in the sky overnight"
As I always mention "If you think you go to slow....... go even slower" it will pay off long term.

I'm curious to see what people might have changed. I was dosing 3 times a day and saw okay extension. Then I moved to dosing once after feeding the fish/tank and have gotten better results. Now I'm wondering about dosing it once a week.
