[QUO TE=Chrissy;1820073]Nope, I took them out and added a media rack that has chemipure elite in it, and I use a piece of filter floss in the fine filter section. I've just accepted that I will always have nitrates in this tank, and I'm okay with it because all of the corals show excellent color and the fish are well fed and healthy.
I think that by adding the acro power to a reef that already has excess nutrients, just causes the nitrates to rise because they aren't needed. But, adding it to a reef that has 0 nutrients, it helps add those nutrients that are needed to keep the corals healthy. Everyone always says to keep nitrates at 0, but I have more success (better color and growth) in my tank that shows nutrients. My tanks with low or no nutrients have always had more faded coloring and I have had to add coral food.[/QUOTE]
Interesting... Don't the tanks not have separate timers for the blues and whites? How long do you get to run them for?
