Was the alk spike from the first use of the salt?

Nope, operator error on my part. Salt has been correcting my issues. PE on SPS so far has been improving, some LPS puff after water changes and extend feeding tentacles.

This is about 10-20min after WC. Nothing different about WC technique except for AF salt. It's only done this at night.

@Aquaforest What if we only use the Probiotics Reef Salt salt? Is the salt as good as others such as Seachem Reef Salt that I am currently using and doing well with? Or do you have to add the components 1,2,3 as well as the other items? I am running a 180g mixed reef 50% or more SPS. I am already dosing KH, CA and MG and use BRS Rox.08 carbon and BRS High Capacity GFO. So if I simply change to this salt (for starters) will it be safe and will it be just as good as the one I am currently using?

No you do not have to add components 1 2 3 . I do because its a light balling system, and it add everything the tank needs.( calc , alk mag and minor trace) . Its all mixed already so its super easy and simple. Salt is great btw mixes in 15 to 20 minutes

I dose red sea coral colors, acropower weekly and red sea reef energy monthly. I also dose kh, ca and mg. So I think the tank should be covered. I do like the probiotics idea of this salt and that is why I wanted to try it

From what I've been reading so far you probably shouldn't be running a uv. The probiotics are supposed to kill off the bad bacteria and a uv will kill good and bad bacteria.

I have a 3 year old mature SPS tank and started doing 15% WCs twice a week for one week then started the program. I am also still only dosing half the recommended per their instructions.

Just to clarify we are introducing bacteria and feeding it which out competes against the "bad", doesn't exactly kill anything. A UV could kill the biotics you are dosing yes.

Correct, I want to introduce everything slowly. I have a young reef with lots of coral frags. This program seems great, I'm expecting the full line of coral foods and trace elements tomorrow. The Pro Bio S and NP pro were out stock so I am also waiting on those.

I will continue to does my ESV 2 part since i have about 2.5 gallons of each and my Acropower as my new 1000ml bottle just came in. As Tweaked had mentioned I will start at half the recommended dose. I need to drive my dKh down some before I start stripping the water column and get into a strip and feed battle rhythm.

But I have noticed a significant increase in polyp extension on all corals. Water seems clearer than normal. But this is only day 3 for me. So maybe we should start a thread on here to document our findings and experiences with the program. I for one love to share ideas and success and failures with a group.

I think that is because UV kills both good and bad bacteria including the good bacteria that you're adding which could slow the process

So what are the differences between bio S and Pro Bio S and and it clearly states that bio S is for establishing a new tank.do I need it for existing tank that's already stable and established(one year)

Bio S is for starting a new aquarium. Pro Bio S is probiotic Bacteria

Yup, or you can use the Bios S when introducing new fish as it aids in Ammonia reduction.
