Tank is looking great!
My Nightmares are doing well also. I have mine on a frag rack up high in my tank. The one went to 4 real quick and then to 5 now. Where do you have yours? I lost one of the milli's I got from you and the other is starting to encrust and take off.

I have another question. What ballast do you run your Phoenix 14k's on? I have (2) 250w Phoenix 14k also but mine seem to be brighter. I just have a dual 250w generic China electronic ballast. I was just curious cause it makes them look like 2 different bulbs.

* I was just looking back over the pics you posted with the second reflector and bulb and that first FTS is more inline with the color on my tank. The second looks a little dimmer.

Thanks Paul, My Nightmares are in the lower half of the tank, in what I would call moderate flow. The polyps have shrunk up a bit with the more intense lighting, but nothing that concerns me like VDM's. I also spot feed them occasionally. Sorry to hear about the milli, when my Green or Pink one grows out a little more, I'll get you another piece.

I'm using 2 - PFO 250w M80 ballasts.

The two pictures I posted of the 2 pendants over the tank look a little different, because the room lights were on in the first picture so you could see the actual pendants and stand better... in the second picture all the lights in the room were turned off to focus on the tank.

Also, in an effort to help out my Palythoas... which have been slowly but surely declining in appearance since I upped the lighting. I rearranged the tank a little to make a Paly corner, down on the sand bed in the lower left side of the tank. Hopefully the lighting won't be as intense, and they will go back to flourishing again. So here's a quick FTS to show the current status:

That is looking really cool TJ. Love the acan corner, and think maybe the paly corner will be neat looking too. LOL, that nem is bigger and more dangerous looking every time I see him though

Thanks Nate... yeah I need to get that RBTA out of there. I was forced to try and relocate my steel blue chalice the other day, which resulted in me shattering the heck out of it... so this coming week I may be forced to pull that rock out, so I can cut the anemone out of it.

Thanks. They are Grade A's. After I received them, I was a little disappointed and thought I was given Grade B's.... but from how it was explained to me in a thread I created on another forum, the sideburns immediately makes the one a Grade A, and the 2nd and 3rd bar connecting on the other makes it an A. I was never given a specific criteria or answer when I initially asked though. Honestly, I was hoping for 2 "perfect" Picasso's, which IMO means that the 2nd and 3rd bar connect on both sides of each fish... but for what I paid... I really can't complain. I can't wait to see what they look like in a year or so, the black is already beginning to fill in on the female.

Some updated pics... I've got a nice little nuisance algae battle going on as you will notice. Also, more fish will be added soon. A lot of my SPS are going pastel, so I'm fairly positive I'm running nutrient poor. Water params and PAR levels all checked out fine.

You ever have any problem with your candy apple reds? I cant find a spot they seem to like in my tank.

Not yet. They've done well under both lighting conditions. Definitely looked a little better, and were more expanded under the less intense lighting. However, they are still growing and seem to be handling the increased lighting just fine. They don't grow as fast as my Nightmares, but definitely a fast grower IMO/IME.

Nice work. Although you seem to have very high PAR readings I like your idea of a single 400w MH and I would use a few VHO Actinic bulbs. Also a reflector design with a more focused beam may make coral placement easier.
