Warning: Use Vibrant at your own risk

On the bright side, at least I don't have to deal with people trying to claim water means effluent. That's a little progress anyway.

As I have said repeatedly, I think you are mistaken in what is OK to do with pesticides.

The approved EPA label for disposal on the actual product is not my speculation anymore than someone would use the word water to describe effluent.

You've not posted a single document that gives disposal recommendations for ANY concentration of the polexitonium chloride polymer, and for you to claim you have done so is simply incorrect.

ALL disposal info you have posted for the polymer is your speculation on what you think people will or could do.

As I have said repeatedly, I think you are mistaken in what is OK to do with pesticides.

I think "person" might be more appropriate. I would love to see more people chiming in with their experiences while using the product among other things.

I would love to hear about all the people who use algaefix/vibrant who are going to dispose of all their water changes in a manner other than pouring down the drain.

This being a requirement for using algeafix and/or vibrant should be bigger news than anything. Look at what everyone is doing to the environment!

Yes, you have repeatedly harassed me with this statement.

Yes, you have repeatedly harassed me with this statement.

No, I've given the same reply to the same assertion of yours. If you post the same thing over and over, one should expect the same reply over and over. I said I would not continue to debate with you, since we just disagree, but I also will not let incorrect statements go unchallenged. Hence the idea of using canned responses. :)

If you think it harassment, definitely report it to Reef2Reef management as that is against the Terms of Service.

You've started posting it even when I reply to other people. And you refuse to acknowledge I've never said a word about a single pesticide other than algaefix. Why so much blatant dishonesty?

I did report you.

You posted that before. That entire page is talking about the kind of pesticides that you mix and spray around your house.

I posted the link already to show the context and what it is talking about.
You might want to read the FIRA act before making claims. Algicide is type of pesticide you can spray around the home or put in water like a pool or lake. It's all controlled by this act. Since vibrant uses and algecide and doesn't put it on the label they are in violation of this act.

I have repeatedly posted the same answer to the same assertion. Science does not work by who wears down who first.

I know. It's a tricky situation because I do not want to engage further, but I also do not want the same incorrect statements to remain unchallenged, especially in a long thread like this where folks won't read 64 prior pages where his comments where shown to be wrong.

Hopefully people will at least read the first couple of pages

This material is also not just an algaecide. It is used to kill bacteria and mollusks as well, and Buckamn states:

"Do not discharge effluent containing this product to sewer systems without previously notifying the local sewage treatment plant authority. For guidance contact your State Water Board or Regional Office of the EPA."

That certainly seems 100% clear to me that folks should NOT perform a water change and send the effluent into a sewer, no matter how convenient it may seem, without checking locally. Is a water change with it illegal? I cannot say, not being a lawyer or knowing if any material even remains in the water after use. The term "might" comes to mind. lol

But, But, But......

Just kidding and well put, sir.

If vibrant is algaefix as it appears, I imagine they are in a lot of trouble. I don't think there is much disagreement on that.

We are more talking about how people can dispose of it. Randy has claimed it "might" be illegal to do water changes and pour your tank water that you treated with it down the drain. But algaefix has disposal instructions that are approved by the EPA and the product is EPA approved and it says nothing of the sort.

I don't know why they are trying to make it out as though I am claiming all pesticides are safe to pour down the drain. He just doesn't want to admit he made a mistake in his claim really.

People do not need to worry about doing water changes after using these products.
