My wife is is in the medical field and she is the one who told me about what I am usingYeah but it's also used as an anti protazoal like in giardia infection for example. Plus it attacks at the level of dna synthesis which is common to Protozoa and bacteria. Sulfa drugs attack at a mechanism specific to bacteria so they have no effect of Protozoa. I'm a med student so my knowledge of pharm and micro is limited to human based diseases but that's at least how I understand it. And sulfa drugs aren't used to treat Protozoa clinically.
