Well, the system has been running for 7-months now and the first coral went in a little less than 6-months ago so I wanted to do a, “mid-year” update with a lot of comparison shots and some other random photos that I thought turned out.
To-date, this system has done really well with the KISS method. All I do is regular water changes using Red Sea Coral Pro and maintain the big three with BRS two-part (aiming for Alk 8.0-9.0, Cal 400-450 and Mg. 1350-1450). I’m not using GFO or carbon and I’m not running biopellets or doing any other type of carbon dosing. I maintain salinity around 1.025 with a calibrated refractometer and keep temperatures between 78.5-79.2 (as measured by the apex temp prob) using a chiller. I could probably get by with fans but I wanted to make sure I don’t spike temperature with the AZ heat.
I’ve checked phosphates with my Red Sea test kit one time and it read 0.04 and I brought a water sample over to my friend’s place who measured it at 0.01 with a Hanna checker. I don’t test for nitrates although I have an API test kit from when I first cycled the tank.

Did some rearranging and moved the nepthia to the back because it was getting really big. Took out the Tyree Mystic Sunset because it was taking up some valuable space and only the new growth was showing the really good coloration. Still light acclimating the Cherry Blossom acro but the plan is to place it where the mystic sunset was. The choati and gorgonian didn’t come out to play for this pic, but here’s where we’re at today:

Sorry I haven't kept up with u n Leo lately .The past few months have been a nightmare.
Just got outta the hospital last week so I have some catching up to do .
Great to hear to hear the Tech M still works . I may have to take that path in a few weeks .
Always good to a have a before n after reference to post .. tanks have definitely progressed .Nice score on the Acro .
I was always curious on how the razor will grow sps frag out . It's time for some upgrades for me but I am still on the limb since a friend mentioned that a fellow SPS keeper's corals under LEDS had that paled shaded look on some parts of the coral . T5 n halide bounce the light all around but leds more than likely do not ..so shading can be an issue .. (wasn't what i wanted to hear). Maybe ur experiment will make me pull the trigger .

Sorry to hear all that Buddha. Hope you're feeling beter now that you're out of the hospital and hope everything's ok.
Re: LEDs, I agree with the shading issue. I've noticed shading on the green birdnest already (other sps aren't big enough yet to notice the effect). I think color is great though...some are better than others. LPS color is off the charts with this Razor. Couldn't be happier. I was having issues with zoas and palys, but I upped the light a little bit over the past three weeks and I'm seeing improvement.
I picked up a bunch of new corals at the Reef Raft live sale and I'm looking forward to getting those in.

I can say that my local buddy here has Radions n he has the best looking Z n P's I have ever seen .His chalice collection is second to none ...so for LED's the LPS n z n P's are a no brainer .:thumbup:

Thanks Leo. Not sure what's causing the color shift back toward green but I'm happy with it. I guess the Radium is nearing the 8 month or so mark (it was used for 2 months prior to going on this tank) so that could be it.
Slowly mixing in some LPS into the Envision to see how they do and to make sure the angel doesn't start picking. On that note, I replaced the 24v jumpers in the Tunzes with the 12v and reprogrammed my pump profiles -- there was a lot of flow going on and it was causing the sandbed to blow around too much...to the point where the tank just didn't look good. We'll see how this program holds up.
Here's the first acan (nothing wild yet...those are on their way!)

This is one of those corals you just have to see under actinics to appreciate but it's not too shabby under full spectrum either -- settling in:

Haha, this is what happens when I'm bored and trying to stay out of the 110-degree heat...
I knew it would be a slow grower but happy to see it's encrusting more and more. My strawberry shortcake has slowed down a bit too.

I'm also amazed how the straight-on shots of the envision make it look smaller than it is; the loss of depth is quite deceiving.
