That is true. I just kinda lost my trust in their business seeing that. My thought process is that if their stuff is going to be so expensive they might as well have flawless products.
yeah I have never actually seen any direct evidence of their slightly questionable quarantine procedures until I discovered the poor little fish on their website. I'd just be careful they seem to have decent things at the moment just too expensive for my taste.

Yeah, but we have a trained eye...this person is probably just a photographer making money on the side. I'm glad you found it though. I would really feel sorry for the person to receive this into their established tank.
Oh my gosh yeah. I would flip out if I spent so much money on shipping and the freaking overpriced animal to see that demonspawn draining it's life away. Who knows... if someone did buy it and didn't see it, it could've had babies and destroyed the unfortunate person's tank. Those things are nasty.

I know right? They do seem to have nice stuff but more and more problems and issues are appearing right before our eyes. Perhaps its due to the fact that PetCo bought them... all I know is that I don't like this trend of mishap.I don’t know. Frankly LA has gone down hill a Lot and DD is starting to send out more and more diseased fish. I think it’s good for the consumer to know.
I recently got a trio of Anthias from DD. One of them had obvious lumps on its head. I sent them pics and a video. After 3 days they finally got back to me and said they need more pics. I just gave up. Thankfully I focus on the fish immune system and it’s doing just fine.
Thanks to this post I had to break out my book and do some reading. While I would never want to have to deal with isopods they are an extremely complex and interesting creature for being so simple in nature.
Yea it makes you wonder though what it's like for the fish I'm a hunter and fishermen and get ticks quite a few times a year. While they make my skin crawl for a day or two its relatively harmless unless it has lyme disease. Some isopods with what I gathered from this basically just attach to filter feed and dont even really affect the host. Still wouldnt want it hanging on me though. While one specific species will actually dissolve the fish's tongue and replace it with itself creating a new functioning organ. It's the only thing in the world that we know of as of now that is capable of such a thing. This book is extremely interesting with amazing pictures I highly recommend it. It's called "the world beneath".
Depending on the fish this is true. I'm drawing s blank on what it's called but something almost as creepy is the fish that basically have suction cups on the top of they're head and attach to sharks. Wanna say lamprey of some sort.
